It’s always nice in the racing game when you are pleasantly surprised and that’s the tale of Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale for owners in The Racing League.
TRL’s Head of Bloodstock Mick Malone traveled to Melbourne to search for some diamonds among the hundreds of yearlings on offer at Inglis Premier Sale and as fate would have it, Mick fell in love with a few yearlings and amazingly walked away with three in partnership with TRL trainers that left him a very contented man.
Two will go to the NSW Tycoons team, Lot 3 a Zoustar x Oklahoma Girl colt which was purchased in partnership with Richard and Will Freedman.
Zoustar was the champion first, second, and third season sire and now stands for a service fee of $198,000 to have secured this precocious son of Zoustar in the stable at $220,000 was great buying.

Next up for the Tycoons, Mick, Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott all agreed on Lot 296 a Pierata filly that was snapped up for $140,000 from the famous Segenhoe Farm.
Gai and Adrian know this family extremely well. The stable trained the three-quarter brother Bellevue Hill who was a serious 2yo contender, running second in the Todman behind Yes Yes Yes with Dubious third.
Segenhoe Stud manager told TRL “she is a real princess”.

The QLD Rogues didn’t miss out, Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted have had tremendous success with the progeny of Rubick and teamed up with TRL to purchase Lot 190 a Rubick x Testy Sue colt for $190,000 which was right on budget.
