The Vic Husslers are still hopeful of having a runner in the $8 million Lexus Melbourne Cup.
Trainer Matt Cumani reports that Team Captain has pulled up ‘tremendously well’ after finishing less than two lengths from the winner in last Saturday’s Bart Cummings at Flemington.
Matt was toying with the idea of backing up Team Captain in this Saturday’s Herbert Power at Caulfield, but will now target the Geelong Cup along with the Lexus Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day.
