VIC HUSSLERS AND QLD ROGUES: NEAR MISSES
The Vic Hussles who led the table for much of June had a chance to grab the ascendency back with Miss Trustful in the Listed Tattersall’s Stakes.
But the Vic’s black type placed filly missed a place after racing like a youngster who’s had enough in her first preparation. Still what a great first prep it’s been for Miss Trustful.
That left the Qld Rogues to have the final shot in the final race of the day with The Big Goodbye contesting the Group 3 Healy Stakes.
If the Big G could pull off the win it would have given the Qld Rogues another monthly bonanza, but the veteran had a rare off day and failed to fire.
NSW TYCOONS TRIUMPH
Leaving NSW on top of the ladder with 54,688 points mostly courtesy of a huge prize money haul from Warwick Farm last Wednesday with Cool Jakey winning and Estadio Mestalla being runner-up in the $200,000 Listed Civic Stakes.
The Husslers are well placed to make a lightning start to Month 9 with Fire racing at Sandown on Wednesday and Pardon My French at Sale on Thursday.
