Lethal Thoughts has earned a trip to Queensland to seek some black type after finally returning to the winners’ list with a strong performance to win the Mornington Guineas on Saturday.
The son of So You Think began his racing career in April of last year when heavily supported to win his maiden at Sale before losing his way during the spring carnival, according to Jack Turnbull from the Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace stable.
“He promised a lot early,” Turnbull said of the horse who contested the Group 1 J.J. Atkins Stakes at two and the Caulfield Guineas earlier this season.
“We ran him up in Queensland as a two-year-old. His form tapered a little, in good company, which was a touch frustrating.
“It was a masterful ride. I didn’t think he was going to get there. We had one get nailed in Adelaide, but it was good to see him get out and get the win.”
