Owners of the Vic Husslers 6 Horse Racing Team are winning on the track and now making a difference off the track, courtesy of their horse Team Captain.
Team Captain trained by Matt Cumani won the Hamilton Cup and is now set to be nominated for the Lexus Stakes on Derby Day or the Macca’’s Run on Melbourne Cup Day both at Flemington.
Okay, it might not be the Caulfield Cup or the Melbourne Cup but with thousands of owners involved in Team Captain, the question was – What to do with the Hamilton Cup, who gets to keep it?

“The Racing League decided the best result was to raffle the Cup among the owners with all proceeds going to the FightMND Charity, who’s iconic annual event is The Big Freeze which has raised over $14.6 million” TRL CEO Steve Brown said.
“The response has been amazing, within thirty minutes of TRL launching the Hamilton Cup raffle on Monday, the tally was already over $2,000, after an hour there was $5,000 in the kitty and by the close of business on Tuesday it had zoomed past the $10,000 mark and continues to grow” Brown added.
Why choose FightMND as the charity for the Vic Husslers?
Well, Vic Husslers owners were asked to name a Pride of Dubai colt trained by Peter Moody after an iconic Melbourne sporting moment. Strangely enough, The Big Freeze was nominated and voted as the winning name.
“Motor Neurone is a horrific disease and we are delighted that our Vic Husslers owners have decided to support The Big Freeze and FightMND”.
The winner will be drawn this Friday, October 22 with all proceeds going to FightMND.
