As a TRL owner if your heart isn’t racing this weekend well you might not have a pulse.
TRL goes into overdrive with a history-making 3 runners on Saturday, the aim is to improve on the record of 14 wins from 12 runners to the track.
The big one is Team Captain, if he wins on Saturday the Vic Hustlers have a runner in the Melbourne Cup. Now that is a dream come true.
While the Qld Rogues have two last-start winners returning in Larrikin Rogue and Hot Spring Gold.
Time to check out the major chances from your other TRL trainers this Saturday.

CAPTAIN READY TO STEER THE SHIP TO THE MELBOURNE CUP
There’s already been a big win for the Vic Husslers with Team Captain making the final field for the Bart Cummings at Flemington.
Now if he could win it, Team Captain qualifies for the Melbourne Cup itself. Yes, the stuff dreams are made of.
Trainer Matt Cumani is “delighted” with the horse and believes his fitness and staying ability will see him hitting the line. He’s already firmed from $41 to $21 in early markets.
Declan Bates takes the ride with regular jockey Blaike McDougall thinking Team Captain wasn’t going to get a run. Well, he did. Go Captain!

MUNCE SET TO STRIKE GOLD WITH HOT SPRING
Chris Munce is super excited about Hot Spring Gold who’s looking to post three wins on the trot.
While Saturday’s 1200m may be short of Hot Spring Gold’s best distance he will be storming home if there’s good early speed.
Munce could have a big day, with She’s A Rogue (Race 1) and Jetty (Race 8) primed to be right in the finish.
Jetty has been specked from $10 into $8.

LARRIKAN ROGUE AN EXCITEMENT MACHINE
If you can’t remember Larrikin Rogue’s debut, well go and watch the video. You had to see it to believe it.
That’s now history, Larrikin has had a nice spell, looks magnificent and is ready to rock. Taking on the older horses is never easy, but Chris Anderson has plenty of faith in the horse but stresses whatever he does on Saturday, he will improve.

GOLLAN IS HAVING A BALLER
Tony Gollan is not only the undisputed King of Brisbane, he’s proved again when he travels a horse we should take notice.
Thankfully, we stuck with Baller last start and there’s no reason to jump off. He’s a $9 chance in the Gilgai and is one from one down the Flemington straight.
At Eagle Farm, Tony has one at odds I’m keen to speculate on. Pizonie (Race 5) is $13 and looked uncomfortable on a Heavy track last time out, it loves it dry and Eagle Farm will suit.

O’DEA/HOYSTED TO PLAY FETCH
What a great run by Helluva Barty on Wednesday for the Qld Rogues and trained by Steve O’Dea and Matt Hoysted.
Beaten by a nose on debut with lots of fun to come.
Fetch (Race 7) stands out for the stable on Saturday. Ben Thompson has the ride, and he hasn’t missed a place at his previous two starts.

PRICE AND KENT TO TURN ON THE CHARM
Fresh from their stable star in Jacquinot winning the Golden Rose, the Mick Price/Michael Kent Jnr show is set to continue this time at Flemington.
Charm Stone (Race 1) has Jamie Kah in the saddle was a $1.55 million yearling purchase and looked good coming home second in its jump out.
Visinari (Race 2) is pretty short in the market at $2.15 again Kah is riding, won 3 of 5 last prep, and has won twice first-up.

CIARON HAS A COUPLE AT ODDS
She did the right thing by us last start so I’m not about to abandon her. Pride of Jenni (Race 4) has been well backed from $5 to $4.40 in early markets and looked great winning last start.
At Randwick, the stable has Le Don De Vie (Race 9) in the Metropolitan he has also been well supported $8 to $6 and the boys are the masters of getting their stayers right on the day.

JOE PRIDE GOES THE CRUSHER
Bittersweet week for Joe Pride with Penso A Lei, Joe always had plenty of time for the mare but she injured a tendon and was sold online at Inglis this week for $100,000.
Joe has runners across a couple of states, but I’ve settled on Coal Crusher (Race 10) as the one I’ll support.
Coal Crusher won 4 of his last 5 starts and is a good fresh horse.

GAI IN FOR A BIG DAY
The Waterhouse/Bott stable are famous for having their 2yo’s up early and winning. They could take out the juvenile double at Randwick on Saturday.
Tarabeau (Race 1) has to overcome barrier 10 but has plenty of speed and looked good at the trials.
Perfect Proposal (Race 2) is tight at $3 did look good at the trials in winning in good time.
While at Flemington, I’m sticking with Major Beel (Race 9) he has winkers on and hasn’t missed a place in his last five starts.
BET: Tarabeau – Each Way (Randwick Race 1)
BET: Perfect Proposal – Win (Randwick Race 2)
Good luck and good punting.
