It’s the final Group 1 of the season with the running of the Tatts Tiara at Eagle Farm.
TRL trainers are heavily represented in the Tatts Tiara with a total of 8 runners, many of the good chances are badly drawn in a very open race, so it’s a bit of a lottery.
Now let’s have a look at the major chances from our TRL trainers for this Saturday.
GAI AND ADRIAN AWAY BUT THE TRAIN ROLLS ON
It’s the final Group 1 of the year with Gai and Adrian both watching on from their mid-year break.
The Waterhouse-Bott stable has two runners Shout The Bar and Vangelic. I actually think Shout The Bar will improve enormously on the firm Eagle Farm surface and at $12 with Sportsbet will give you a massive sight.
At Randwick, Journalism $4.40 with Sportsbet won first-up and was good last start over 1600m, is fit and can win again.
Grove Ferry (Race 8) resumes and you always know Gai’s horses are ready to perform first-up.

FREEDMAN’S TO MAKE A WORTHWHILE TRIP
NSW Tycoons trainer Will Freedman actually flew to Brisbane weekend, hired a car and drove to Ipswich only to scratch their runner Juan Diva with track playing on the worst side of Soft.
This week Juan Diva will be at Eagle Farm for the Healy Stakes which is a Group 3 but has drawn for the car park.
Juan Diva (Race 9) is a talented mare who has been well supported in early Sportsbet markets $15 to $11) and if she has any luck from barrier 15 can run a place.
At Randwick, Alakahan (Race 6) has also been well supported into a $3.60 favourite and is a stayer who’s fit and will take some catching.

WAUGH TO THE FORE
The Kim Waugh stable is enjoying a true purple patch notching another winner during the week at Gosford.
Kim has a nice horse in Conrad (Race 3) which won well first-up, I remember seeing this horse trial at Randwick and Kim has always had a good opinion of him.
Kingsheir (Race 10) has come up with barrier 17 in the last event, very rarely is it an advantage but he’s been backed from $13 to $9 on Sportsbet and is worth an each way play.

JOE PRIDE WRAPPED WITH STABLE FORM
Joe Pride was delighted with the effort of Penso a Lei in her barrier trial on Friday. She’ll now be off to the races and as jockey Sam Clipperton reported “felt great and will be much better suited over a mile and beyond”.
Joe is keen on Dehorned Unicorn (Race 4) Randwick. He’s a last start winner, has thrived in the stable and will be very hard to beat again on a drying track.
BET: Dehorned Unicorn – Win (Randwick Race 4)
CIARON MAHER HAS THE FEET UP
Ciaron Maher may have his feet up but the juggernaut rolls on with Dave Eustace running the show.
At Caulfield, the stable has two runners in Race 1, but I like Unusual Culture who’s $3.20 on Sportsbet. It won on debut, has been racing in tougher races and looks well placed here.
Grandslam (Race 4) isn’t fancy odds but will be hard to beat.
Blaze A Trail (Race 7) has been freshened up since his hard fought last start win and while tight in the market will go extremely close.

PRICE & KENT IN BIG DEMAND
Good luck to the Price/Kent yard who have Annavisto in the Group 1 Tatts Tiara.
We’ll concentrate on their runners at Caulfield.
Fifth Position (Race 5) is very good fresh, has a great second-up record and just needs some luck from a bad barrier.
Inundation $2.30 is very short in the market, but his last two wins have been very impressive and is a deserved favourite.

BET: Inundation – Win (Caulfield Race 6)
O’DEA HOYSTED AT EAGLE FARM
Looking forward to getting the talented Helluva Barty back into the O’Dea/Hoysted stable and that’s imminent.
Tara Jasmine (Race 2) disappointed last time out at the Sunny Coast, but looked good winning first-up and can atone.
Stroll (Race 7) was too good for them last start and meets a similar field here. She’s a nice 2yo filly and has the advantage of Pike on board.
BET: Tara Jasmine – Each Way (EF Race 2)
BET: Stroll – Each Way (EF Race 7)
Good luck and good punting.
