One of the few known facts about horse racing is that sometimes dreams actually do come true. Last Friday, Queensland Rogues colt ‘Greylander’ put himself forward as a dream maker.
After impressing Queensland’s premiership winning trainer Tony Gollan in his first campaign at the Eagle Farm stables, Tony asked Greylander to show him if that all matched up on the track in a competitive ‘jump out’. What played out is the maximum you could possibly ask for at this stage of a young 2 athlete’s career.
Greylander’s trainer Tony Gollan has now set himself and his Rogue’s owners a plan. And the possibilities are now those that dreams are made of! Here are a few notables about Greylander’s sire Fastnet Rock:
- His daughter Driefontein won a Magic Millions 2yo and $2.3m in prize money
- She made her debut in November that year, which is aligned with Tony Gollan’s plan with Greylander
- Fastnet Rock’s son Merchant Navy won the sire making Coolmore Stud Stakes and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot. Click here to watch.
- His owners then sold Merchant Navy to stud for what is believed to be 10’s of millions of dollars
These are just a few highlights from a stallion whose progeny have made dreams come true. No doubt it is early days for Greylander, however at $200 for your share, you need to know that a Dream is now in play.
