The Racing League would like to wish the super talented Jamie Kah all the best on Saturday as she attempts to become the first jockey to crack 100 city winners in one season. Jamie needs only one win to reach the century mark and has seven rides at Caulfield in the nine races…we are backing her in. Let’s find a winner for Saturday from our TRL trainers around the country.
Michael Costa – Pays To Follow
It’s been a hell of a week for Queensland Rogues trainer Michael Costa, the rising star of Queensland racing winning the Grafton Cup with Purrfect Deal and was second in the Ramornie Handicap with Phoebetor. We reckon Michael will add to his amazing strike rate at Doomben on Saturday. Race 4 Seentoomany “Has done well since causing a big upset at Randwick last start and I expect her to run a big race again over the same distance” said Costa. Race 7 Axe “Thought he was terrific in the Eye Liner last start when just nutted on line, from his good gate on Saturday he should lead or be close to it and prove extremely hard to beat” said Costa.
Bet: Seentoomany (Race 4) Each Way
Bet: Axe (Race 7) Win
Not So Dusty – Rob Heathcote
With the Sunshine Coast being washed out last Saturday, the meeting is now on this Sunday and the week’s delay has worked in favour of Dusty Tycoon (Race 3) according to trainer Rob Heathcote. Dusty Tycoon raced in the 2020 Magic Millions, but last preparation suffered throat issues and underwent an operation. Her speedy recovery, barrier trial form and the improving track conditions has left Rob confident of a strong return.
BET: Dusty Tycoon – Each Way (Race 3)
GOLLAN TO PLAY STRONG HAND
When you’ve won the last 7 Brisbane Premiership it’s no big shock that Queensland Rogues trainer Tony Gollan has a stong hand on Saturday. Here are Tony’s thoughts on his key runners.
Race 2 Tavion Prince – “From a good gate and will go forward, he was placed behind boom horse Incentivise last start and has improved”
Race 5 Purroni – “I reckon she’s over the odds and will give you a big sight”
Race 9 Starosa – “Was pretty good last start but will appreciate coming back to Doomben where she won well two starts back”.
BET: Tavion Prince – WIN
WATCH WAUGH AT RANDWICK
NSW Tycoons trainer Kim Waugh did the right thing by us last week with Bethencourt placing at big odds. It’s worth keeping an eye on Misteed (Race 4) who’s having it’s first start for Kim after being transferred from the Snowden yard and is capable of a bold showing at odds. While Ashman (Race 6) is first-up for Kim and will improve during the preparation.
BET: Misteed – Each Way (Rosehill)
MICK PRICE – Searching For Fame
Vic Huslers trainer Mick Price is expecting Shame For Fame (Race 1) to continue to improve at Caulfield on Saturday. Shame For Fame returned some sizzling sectionals in winning last start at Bendigo with Price tipping further improvement. Over The Sky (Race 5) has been scratched.
BET: Shame For Fame – Each Way
BELMONT BEAUTIES
There’s a massive eleven races at Belmont this Saturday which means there’s eleven winners to be found. WA Black Hearts training duo Ben and Dan Pearce will be hoping William Pike can work his magic with Wise Words (Race 5). Pike is sure to go forward on Wise Words who was tenacious last start when just getting nabbed on the post. You’ll have to be patient but the Pearce brothers also have a big hope with the top weight in the last Don’t Fuss (Race 11). Lumped with 60kgs, Kristy Bennett will claim 2kgs and Don’t Fuss deserves another chance after bumping into a couple of classy gallopers last start.
Bet: Wise Words (Race 5) Each Way
Race 11 Don’t Fuss (Race 11) Each Way
