It’s been a painstaking search with plenty of disappointments along the way but the TRL Bloodstock team finally got their new man for the Qld Rogues in Wednesday’s Inglis Digital Online sale.
After bidding and missing out on 5 other candidates for various reasons over the past few months, it’s with great delight that we can announce the well-credentialled Heman joins the Rogues team.
TRL wasn’t the only stable in pursuit of Heman, but were determined to get their man.
In a spirited online bidding contest, Heman was eventually knocked down to TRL for $145,000 and raced in partnership with Chris and Corey Munce.
THE MUNCE STABLE ARE EXCITED
Heman was on the shortlist of many trainers including Chris and Corey Munce and why not.
He was an $850,000 yearling purchase but when not making it as a stallion and subsequently gelded was put up for sale by the China Horse Club and Newgate Farm.
“We are super excited to race Heman in partnership with the Qld Rogues, we’ve had some good success with the Rogues and that looks set to continue now with the purchase of Heman” Corey Munce said.
The Rogues retain 50% of Heman while the Munce team will have 50% with their stable clients.
For the record that means Rogues will enjoy 100% of the fun and thrills of racing Heman while retaining 50% of the prize money which equates to points on the TRL ladder.
He will race in Qld Rogues colours.

HEMAN’S PROFILE SUITS
Heman is only lightly raced and he profiles beautifully for races in South East Queensland.
He’s had only 10 starts which includes only the 1 win but he has raced in quality races for virtually his entire career including the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington on Derby Day.
“He’s been a runner-up in a Group 3 over the Flemington Carnival and also placed in a Listed race but he comes up here now as a Class 1 horse, which means there are plenty of options for him” Corey Munce said.
THERE’S PLENTY TO LIKE
Finding and buying horses is easy, but finding the right horses that meet the criteria set by the TRL Bloodstock team and then being able to buy them is another matter, TRL CEO Steve Brown explains.
“It may not appear obvious, however the team at The Racing League is always on the lookout for new horses for all TRL teams.
“We can’t promise anything, other than we will be patient where patience is required.
“In the Rogues case, we had offered, bid and missed out on 5 horses over the last few months before succeeding on purchasing Heman.

Magic Millions Carnival
MAGIC MILLIONS ELIGIBLE
Heman ticks another box and that is he is eligible for the Magic Millions Carnival which continues to grow in prize money and also with new races being added.
While it’s not a deal breaker if not eligible it certainly is a bonus to at least have the Magic Millions carnival as an option.
“Again, no promises are possible in racing, however the TRL bloodstock team are very excited by the big prize money Magic Millions possibilities that Heman will now be set for” Steve Brown said.
It’s a point not lost on Munce stable.
“We will get him up here straight away, he’ll have a couple of weeks at the farm and get him ready for a Summer campaign.
“Magics continues to go from strength to strength. There’s a new meeting under lights the week before the big day and we will canvass all options.
As everyone is aware their are no guarantees in the racing game and no one can predict the future but Heman looks like a cracking edition to the Rogues team.
