TRL DRAFT MANIA
Days, weeks, months of anticipation and excitement was realised on Thursday night when a touch of big time sports like the NFL, NBA and AFL came to The Racing League with the world’s first horse racing draft.
TRL owners purchased 9 yearlings from the Magic Millions Sales and then teams from the eastern states voted on which high class juveniles they wanted for their particular team.
Former Chief Steward Ray Murrihy decided the team order by drawing the names out of his famous pork pie hat and team managers made their three selections.
